Blame it on the drain, yeah yeah.

For the last, uh, three? weeks we've had a blocked main drain. So ALL our drains in the house have been getting backed up way too quickly.

Then Friday, our creepy landlady came over wanting to look at all our taps to see if any were dripping, because the water meter has been going constantly. And we looked at the toilet, and it was continually filling. She wasn't happy. So she got a plumber to come over.

He got here at about 8:20 this morning, ten minutes before he said he'd show up, and left just before 8:30, with both our problems taken care of. And here I was thinking, oh great, he'll probably have to put in a new toilet, and I'll have to stay home all day for that, and maybe miss work, and have to ask the vet out front for the use of hers if I need to go. Especially since I woke up with food poisoning from the unknown-to-me moldy cream I poured into my cup of tea last night.... All better now though.

Heh...

Okay, so maybe you're wondering why you just got three or ten emails from the site saying "Thanks for your comments" when you don't remember posting any...

That'd be because I just moved all of the comments from the old site to the new site, and I had to enter email addresses, and didn't realize it was emailing everyone...

So that's why. Guess I should've thought about that earlier.

Phew.

It's finished. Well, nearly so anyway. The only thing left to move over is the books, and I only haven't done that because the books thing on THIS site isn't working yet. But I'll figure something out.

New comments module installed today. For some reason the link doesn't show on the front page; it only shows up if you go to the article's page. I'll look at fixing that too.

Tomorrow, perhaps, if I can think of anything, I'll post something nice & profound. But right now it's 11:08 pm, and I'm tired, so I'm going to sleep. Nite.

Notes to myself

Things I've already moved to the new site (the links in the menu will reflect this):

About us page

Humor pages

Mayhem pages

Recipes

Wish List

Time machine and "Don't forget" (albeit in a new calendar format instead)

Things I'm in the process of moving over:

Old news section

Things I'll try to do this weekend:

Find a WORKING book component/module

Find a WORKING quote component/module

Find a WORKING comment component/module

Move the FME archives

Move links

Move parodies

Try to figure out how to get the front page to display like I want it, with at least 5 current news items and NOT with that stupid 2-column format

Finish moving the old news

Move the rest of the current (ish) news

Move writings

Bribe my husband to fix the few little bits that need it :-)

Note: Finished as of the latest update

Further note: I won't be posting any more news stories here, simply because every one I post is another one I have to move later. Ugh, what a project.

Where are they now?

I got thinking today about all the original #Bannerman people, and what they're doing now, and how some of them (like me) have come a long way from where they were in 1996. And so I thought now would be a good time to look at what everyone was doing then, and what they're doing now, and if you've lost track of anybody, you can read it and say "Wow, I didn't know that, good for him/her!"

And for once I'm gonna put the rest of it in the body text, so you'll have to click on "More" if you wanna read the rest. It'll probably be long.

By the way, if you don't see yourself in here, it's for one of two reasons: a) You didn't start coming to #Bannerman early enough to be called an "original," or b) I haven't heard from you in ages and don't know what you're up to.

Also, if anything's inaccurate, please tell me so and I'll change it promptly. Starting alphabetically...
